2. The use of harsh or discordant sounds in literary composition, as for poetic effect.

This is my word of the day. I love learning new words and this one has popped up at me at least 7 times in the last month. It's always good to know what TV is talking about when you are watching with your buds and want to look smart.

O.k. So it's been like forever since I have blogged here. So shoot me. I have been busy with me social and other engagements. I went to the big island last week and it was incredible. We:

---------------------------------

A veiew of Hawaii from space. I took this picture ;)

1) Stayed at the airport for 15 hours with no food or transportation (that's a story for a whole 'nother blog)
2) Went to an incredible silver sand beach and body surfed 10 foot waves
  • sub-point of interest: Skyler was body surfing with us and he got rolled by a wave so bad that he fractured a bone in his shoulder. He cannot move his arm higher than 90 degrees now! It is sad
3) Ate Thanksgiving dinner with the coolest family in the world. It's too bad that I can't pronouce their last name...
  • sub-point of interest: Nichole Cornillez, Casey Cornillez, Nikki ???, and her sisters are all related in a hawaiian family web that ties back to me quite nicely. I met Nichole here on campus about two months ago. Nichole's brother married Nikki's sister Tami and so now they are in the web. Tami's (and Nikki's) cousin is Iosepha Leota, whom I knew quite well in highschool. He was one of the only poly kids at Clearfield high and he was in my world civilizations class senior year. It's funny how small this world is isn't it?
4) Watched the sunrise over a black sand beach.
5) Saw the lava coming out of Mt. Kiluea, an active volcano.
6) Walked through lava tunnels
7) Took a tour of the Big Islands 11 climate zones including arid, temperate and sub-arctic (atop Mount Mona Kea).
8) Watched Star Wars Episodes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 in that order (plus a 3 hour documentary on the making of the series)
9) Watched 2 Lord of the Rings documentaries totaling 6 hours. Also watched extended version of return of the King.
10) Read 200 pages of Harry Potter 5: The Order of the Phoenix
11) FINALLY, and I mean FINALLY, beat Spider Solitaire on difficult setting. I have been at that for years now. I printScreened the victory screen and set it as my desktop background. I want to prove to people that I really have beeten the game.
12) Watched the most majestic sunset I have ever seen over the windward side of the big island.

13) Ran 11 beatiful miles.
----------------------------

And that was my trip in a nutshell. I really missed BYU while I was gone: the friends and love interests, the caf's horrible food, and even the repetative student activities. I'm really glad that I'm back now.

This semester has flown by. There are only 3 more weeks of school and I haven't even started any of my final papers! Ahhh! It's crazy. I'm actually glad to get this semester out of the way because Christmas break is going to be soooo relaxing! 3 weeks of doing absolutely nothing. I am going to finish the Harry Potter series and do a few other little things though.

Samantha, I did it. Are you proud of me? I wrote a blog, and I made it long to make up for the time that I've been away. I'll try to keep up with the writing daily and we'll keep in touch o.k. Have a great day all!
